Music Addict

Busy in her first gig and wondering what happened to all the frivolity.

So I'm back from being Lost in New York. When I told my Dad about it he said I was like Kevin. It took me a while to realize he was referring to Home Alone 2, and then I wished I hadn't. On a brighter note, however, my accomodations were more than I could ask for. Ryan can cook! He can also tease, banter, and generally goof around. He and Val together kept me laughing and well-fed. Thanks guys! I will certainly repay you somehow...

Also, the trip was a success because today I received my top-choice internship! I will work in the First Year Sophomore Academic Advising Center for Columbia undegrads. Woohoo! I am very, very excited.

There is unfortunately some pretty big drama right now at my house. I'm upset and don't want to go into too much detail, but one of my roommates moved out on good terms with everyone and promptly had her lawyer father send a note saying that she wants her security deposit back on the spot and refuses to pay rent through the rest of the lease. She never said a word of complaint and made no effort to find a sub-letter while here. Needless to say, we're all on a tight budget and pretty worried, especially if this turns into a legal battle. It gets more complicated than that, but oh man I feel so cheated after being the best friend I could to this girl all through college. Whew. Life goes on...

Glad you had a good time in NY and glad everything seems to be falling into place for your grad stuff. I wish you nothing but good luck

It was so good to see you! Im glad you had fun :) You were our first couch tester- and for that we thankyou :)

Im sorry about the roomate... if she was on the lease then she has no arguement, so hopefuly that is the case... if shes not, well... the deposit is only available untill the end of the leasing term, or within 45 days ov leaving... That is really shitty of that brat... she is in for a real shock the she cant always have everything her way in the real world. I hope it works out, otherwise, start working on a sub-let :)
